Have you ever heard children exclaim, "That's not fair!"? I believe that it's a common phrase among us. When we feel in some way sheathed or marginalized, we often exclaim in our own unique way "That's not fair!". It only stands to reason in a culture that is saturated with competitions of all kinds that we might be somewhat obsessed with rules and fairness. If you don't believe this is true, stop by our gymnasium some afternoon when there's a basketball game going on and sit by the parents of the players on the court. As you sit next to them, observe their behavior and listen to what they say about the officials. I'm sure you'll find that it's not only children who cry out "not fair!".

The questions for this weekend are: Can we use our experience with rules and fairness in this life in our relationship with God? Or does God have a way of doing business that is foreign to us? To find an answer to this perplexing question, tune into Pastor Haun's sermon Sunday as he proclaims around the theme "Doing Business with God".
